Frequently Asked Questions

How Safe is My Money?
Completely. Your deposits are fully insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) up to $250,000 per depositor until December 31, 2009.

How Safe are Banking Transactions Over the Internet?
The following measures are employed:

  • Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Encryption provides a secure channel for data transmission across computer networks using public key cryptography.
  • For added security, we maintain Strong Password Requirements, meaning we require one letter, one numeric character, and a longer password of 6 - 16 characters.
  • Firewalls and Redundant Screening/Filtering Routers are gateways that verify the source, destination, and protocol of each data packet before it is sent.
  • Security procedures are audited by a Certified Public Accounting firm on an annual basis. Federal Bank examiners review the results of this audit. In addition, an independent security firm routinely performs penetration and security testing on Internet Banking systems.

Could Service Get Interrupted?
In order to ensure reliable access to Yuma Community Bank Online, a redundant network has been implemented to reduce any service outage due to hardware failures or software bugs to no more than a few minutes. Backup data files are stored in two physical locations to assure access reliability. In the event of an access interruption over the Internet, you will continue to have access to your funds by several means, including: ATM/Debit cards, customer service and paper checks.

How Do I Make Deposits?
Mailing in pre-paid postage deposit envelopes is one way. Yuma Community Bank will provide you with all the envelopes you need.

You may choose to set up your paycheck, government check or many other types of checks for Direct Deposit. Your account is credited the amount of the check each payday and you never even have to lift a finger. If you would like we can even split your deposit into different Yuma Community Bank accounts.

You may have funds transferred automatically into your account from accounts at other financial institutions, say a bank in your office building. This too is free and is a smart way for small businesses or individuals who must deal with cash to make deposits.

How Do I Pay Bills?
Using Yuma Community Bank's personalized checks, you could continue to write checks as you always have or we suggest you take advantage of our free online bill payment service. After you have entered in a list of who you want paid, all you have to do is enter when and how much. Yuma Community Bank handles all the rest electronically. You can set up fixed recurring payments so you won't have to enter the amount and date each time. You can change or stop payments prior to the scheduled payment date. You are in complete control.

Can I Bank by Phone?
Absolutely. If you are away from your computer or can not get on the Internet, you can transfer funds between different accounts, get account information, and hear which checks or debits have recently cleared. Just call us at 1-800-356-3564 and enter your bank access code: 28, to access your account information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

You will need your account number and the last 4 digits of the primary account holder's Social Security number in order to access the telephone banking system.
